The E-Z On Power Systems GPU was born, as all good product ideas are, from recognizing an unfilled need. The creators of the E-Z On Power Systems GPU are in the aviation charter business. In searching for a GPU to support their flight operations, they discovered that there were really only two basic product choices available.

The first was a unit built around a gasoline or diesel engine, which provides power to drive a generator that produces the required electrical energy. These GPUs are expensive, noisy, and create emission pollutants that many FBOs and airports are taking steps to eliminate.

The second was a unit that operates from utility electrical service. These are less expensive, quiet and do not create emission pollutants, but they are limited to access to electrical outlets. In many applications, this is a limitation that eliminates the product as a viable choice.

After looking at these choices, the management of E-Z On Power Systems decided another choice was needed, and the E-Z On Power Systems GPU was the result.
